Students who successfully complete the paper should be able to:
Assessment
Assessment of student learning is based on the completion of five assessment items. This paper is wholly internally assessed. The 'Placement Brief & Health & Safety assignment', and 'Technical Report assignments' are compulsory - failure to submit this report will result in an IC grade for the paper. Student assignments comprises 80% of the grade (assignments detailed below) with the remaining 20% deriving from the student's work performance evaluation. Additional details of the assignments will be provided on Moodle.
Assessment Components
The internal assessment/exam ratio (as stated in the University Calendar) is 100:0. There is no final exam.

This paper has a Moodle page (http://elearn.waikato.ac.nz) where you will be able to access pdfs and assessment materials. There are also discussion forums where you can both ask and answer questions. All assignments (except LinkedIn) are submitted through Moodle.

This paper requires 10 weeks (minimum 400 hours) of work experience at an approved subject-related organisation.The paper is typically undertaken during summer at the end of the second year, commencing after the end-of-year exams.Variations to start dates must be approved by the Paper Convenor.
Please note that this is a 30 point paper, not a 15 point paper, and the assessment workload will reflect that of 30 points.
